AB40k Maintainers

Hi, I have downloaded and installed version 3.1 of Army Builder (demo version). As an Imperial Guard player, keen to try AB out I want to use the new IG codex. I have downloaded and then imported update AB40K5_v102b.ab but I still get the old codex units when I run AB. Have I done it wrong or do I need the full version to use the update files?

Sorry you are having trouble.

First, make sure that you do not have an old set of datafiles. Go into the AB data folder and delete the AB40k5 folder. Then download the most current datafile release, currently 1.02b. Launch AB and import that new file.

Create a new IG list, click the roster options "clipboard" icon and then the "Reset" button. This should give a new, 5th edition codex, roster.

If that doesn't work, make AB compile the new files. Go to tools, data file debugging, compile data files. Finally, use the filters, like HQ or Elite, the buttons across the top. See if that shows you the right units.

Let us know if this does not work.

I double clicked the downloaded data file and it loaded AB and installed itself. It seems to be working fine now, thanks, I can see how it works now and will buy a full licence,

What version of the files do you have? It was added in version 102a on 9 June. See here for more details.
