First, at least some of us would have to get our White Dwarf issue for June, see if it is feasible and how to do it.
Second, it would be be subject to the "New Files" section on the front page. Homer P.S. If you look at the scope of the files, there isn't much current material that isn't in there: all races that have a Codex, all GW expansions, Imperial Armour. My money is on yes. It should be easy I agree. I received my White Dwarf about a week ago. What is the time lapse on something that comes out in White Dwarf? Will it be June 1?
I would think it would be complex to make the spearheads because of the way they work, but I REALLY want to see them in Army Builder.
WD rules have a 1 month from when 'we' get the rules. As for the Spearhead, who knows as we haven't all gotten it to start looking. Also, please, please remember that the 1 month hold is a MINIMUM time. This may be 4 months if it takes us that long.
Stay patient! The only "hobby" GW is interested in is lining their pockets with your money.
Well, given the official release date of the WD is this Friday, May 28th, the earliest we could hope for the rules to be included is June 28th, which is conveniently a Monday.
Of course, the real test is when the actual spearhead formations become available on the GW site...
Apparently GW have stated Sat 29th May. Dan

Spearhead formations are now available (you need to sign in and click the link in the article) on the GW website.
Yes, We have already seen the link. Thank you. Based on this, the release is today and therefor the soonest they will be included in the files for use would be 6/29/10.
Have a nice day. The only "hobby" GW is interested in is lining their pockets with your money.
Note that GW proofreading is on par: the Outrider Spearhead is different in the UK and German versions, the UK version permits only Tanks or Walkers, the German version also permits Skimmers. So the pictured Spearhead is valid only in Germany!

And now for my quick impression of me trying to understand the multimillion pound, multinational corporation that is GW:
At least we can be sure that our yearly "price adjustment" will never be late or incorrect... Age of Cash-mar - alienate you fan base and find a new way to squeeze money out of those poor souls!
Question: since a Transport counts as a Heavy Support when selected in a Spearhead, does that mean if you field a Mechanized Assault Spearhead with 3 Wave Serpents that it fills your Heavy Support FOC as well?

Spearhead formations don't use up FOC slots, they are additional to the FOC. Note that the formation don't say they count as Heavy Support choices, they count as Heavy Support units - this would be for the purposes of any rules targetting Heavy Support units, although I can't think of any off the top of my head ...

Giving dedicated transports a proper slot also clears up issues regarding them not having a unit to be dedicated to transporting, amongst other things; without units to be dedicated to, a spearhead full of DTs can't be deployed with troops inside.
