Just a small comment. We barely have enough time to do the maintaining let alone train people to use the programming tools in Army Builder. We do have some training on the team but it is more OJT than: "I'd like to be able to fix this BS rule that GW wrote so poorly that no two reasonably competent English speakers can figure out one interpretation." The way I got in was as follows:

1) Showed interest
2) Chatted with Shaggai for a while
3) Auditioned by writing a standalone implementation of a codex. I forget which one.
4) Got in
5) Learned the finer points as pointed out by Shaggai and others.

FYI, we have had one person who has gotten to stage 3 since I joined about five years ago. His audition is currently being beta tested, let's all keep our fingers crossed.

The only "hobby" GW is interested in is lining their pockets with your money.
