Alright folks, tell me what you think of this wip so far and what you think it needs/is missing:

Looks good, but I think it needs more weathering on the weapons and shield. Tomb Kings seem like they should be old and rusty and stuff to me.

looking good mate but as JLong said - needs to look "older" as if just come out of the tomb. What about a primary brighter colour to break the shield up too?

You mean like a red or blue Hark?

I think I may leave it as is as far as weathering. Dunno how much more I could do without completely altering the look of the model.

what is wrong with altering the look of the model? I'd expect old pieces of cloth hanging at him, pieces of rotten flesh, and I'd like him to look like what he is: A living dead. This guy looks like he comes fresh right out of the Anatomy-wing of the local University, and just managed to get his jewlery back from the pawn store. He is defenetly too clean looking for my understanding. This dude should be fresh from the crypt to tell tales from the hard side  I suggest Army of Darkness for inspiration.

To dirty him up a bit, why not try a very light chestnut ink glaze with a really frayed brush? i think it might give him that look.

I have painted the studs on the arm bands and the two on the sides of the headband in a ruby colour. It helps break up the white areas just enough I think.

Wraithlord, what did you use on the highlight of the swords? Is a white and/or grey or is it just a trick of the light?

Just thinking of trying something like that for my Lizardmen.

I used FolkArt Metallic Pure Gold and mixed in a very tiny amount of Black Ink for the base. Then I highlighted the edges and such with straight Pure Gold, followed buy an edging of Burnished Gold.
