BTW I see the English version has been updated and matches the German version. The pictured Outrider Spearhead is now legal.

Under Roster Rules check 'Spearhead' (same as Apocalypse, Planetstrike, etc).
You can then choose them under the [Formations] tab.
Once you select the formation you can add the allowed units to it.
Once you give it a try, it's pretty easy and very well done.
They are missing some of the formations, and I already submitted a bug report. Though I have a feeling these were left out of this release due to time and/or bug issues.

I got as far as adding the formation to my roster, but there is nothing in the 'Add Units' section.

Spearhead is not entirely complete at the moment which is the main reason that it was not highlighted in the release notes. There may be several races which are not using spearhead, with the notable exception of the Eldar which was used as a testbed.
Age of Cash-mar - alienate you fan base and find a new way to squeeze money out of those poor souls!

The issue with Spearhead is several fold. The rules on the Spearheads are not crystal clear. For instance, in the spearhead with transports is this only dedicated transports or any vehicle with transport capacity? Also, we have it in a few races but are still working on getting it into all of them. We just have to get back to that one.

I understand that Spearhead is not official in AB yet.
But I found some 'errors' and thought I would post them for when it does get worked on for release.

I'm working with an Eldar army

Mechanized Assault Spearhead: the AB formation gives a "Transport Capacity Exceeded-The unit size has exceeded the capacity of the transport" anytime the total for the Formation: Mechanized Assault reached 16+
This was with 2-3 Wave Serpents each with 5man squads (squads that can choose Wave Serpents as dedicated transports).

Seek & Destroy Spearhead: Does not list/allow Farseer or Warlocks on Jetbikes to be added. Even if those units are created before adding the Formation.

Spearhead also allows 0 HQ and/or 0 Troops.
